In just over 3 months, the members of the 2010/2011 Rockin4Tabitha house building team will be arriving in Phnom Penh to embark on an experience unlike any other - to build 25 houses in Pursat province, Cambodia.

This year's build team is once again a diverse group. Headed up by our fearless leaders, Bob Carver and Wendy Cunning ("Bob the Builder and his wife Wendy" in real life!), the team is joined by return builders Paula Piilonen (3 builds) and Alan Ashton (1 build). The remaining team members are new faces but have been instrumental in raising funds towards the 2011 build and are currently in training to swing a hammer for 3 days - Tabitha Canada board members Colin Eades and Luanne Doner, along with Luanne's husband, Peter; Tash Kalbfleish, a former mineralogy student of Paula's from the University of Ottawa; sisters Teresa and Nicole Flaxman, friends of Tash's; and Mark.
Most have the team have bought their tickets and are planning their stay in SE Asia. Although many of us have met and know each other, Wednesday November 3rd marks our first official team meeting at a local Khmer restaurant, Phnom Penh, in Ottawa. It will be a chance for new-comers to ask questions, discuss plans for the stay in Phnom Penh prior to the build, and to get to know each other a bit better while enjoying cold Angkor Beer.
